Control and Operation

For DCC purposes the layout is divided into three seperate power districts protected individually via circuit breakers that will allow each district to run in isolation of the others. Master DCC control and power is provided by an ESU EcoS command station in conjunction with ESU boosters, further control is provided by a Digitrax superchief system wired as a slave to the command station primarily to enable the use of digitrax DT400 walkabout throttles. The superchief also gives redundancy, in case of problems the layout can still be run using just one of the two systems if necessary.
